Friends of Yates recently partnered with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Victims Service Unit and District Attorney’s Office to help honor those who have lost their lives in 2023 due to crime in our community with a candlelight vigil at the Forest Grove Baptist Church. We mourn with the families of those who have lost loved ones due to senseless violence, and agree with Kansas, City, Kansas Mayor Tyrone Garner when he says that one life lost through violence is too many.
