Positions in our agency operate based upon the advocacy empowerment model, offering strength based case management and trauma informed core domestic violence services for survivors of domestic violence in Kansas City Kansas and the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
Economic advocate
Work in partnership with victims to be economically self sustainable. Educate clients on financial literacy, promote access to education, and facilitate an understanding of the labor market and how to navigate it.
Social worker
Assist victim/survivors participating in emergency shelter, transitional housing, and outreach services to foster their capacities and coping mechanisms in order to improve and better their daily lives and experiences.
family support advocate
Coordinate family and community activities and services that stand-in strengthening the bond between victim/survivors of domestic/sexual violence and their children. Identify and help to repair parent-child dynamics harmed by DV.
Health care advocate
Part-time position to provide direct on-site advocacy services to victim/ survivors of domestic and violence in the hospital or clinic settings as well as crisis/non-crisis advocacy including referrals to shelter and community agencies to access mainstream resources.
Housing stabilization advocate
Provide advocacy to victim/survivors who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless by assisting them in maintaining or obtaining safe, stable permanent housing. Asist with navigation of the rental market, the application process, and public housing authority options.
Case manager
Provide Case Management to victim/survivors of domestic violence that will enhance their safety, life skills, economic and self-sufficiency. Utilize strength based case management and survivor centered practices to coordinate services for victims.
